Fifteen swimmers from across all synchro clubs in Herts attended the first of hopefully many Development days in the County. This was held in Cheshunt at Goffs Academy which was a great location for both land training and pool activities.
We specifically aimed the session at swimmers who do not currently hold a skills grade. We really wanted to assist them in progressing their skills towards achieving the benchmark standards for our sport. We managed to secure the services of Sisy Wang ( ex GB Synchcro Assistant Coach, Indonesian National Team Head Coach and Swimmer for China at multiple National events ). This proved to be an excellent opportunity for swimmers to experience Coaching from one of the UK’s top Coaches.
Several local Coaches and the Herts President attended the session and obtained some valuable knowledge and new ideas whilst shadowing Sisy at work. The swimmers really enjoyed the day and gained an insight into higher level training which they found challenging but extremely rewarding.
The Herts Synchro committee are looking forward to running another Development session later this year.
