At every event we need the support of non technical helpers to ensure the event runs smoothly so that our athletes have the best possible experience. In order to run counties successfully we need to have around 370 volunteers across the three weekends and two weekdays. There are lots of different jobs; including marshalls to get your swimmers to their events at the right time, runners to get results to data recorders, people to hand out refreshments to officials and coaches, people to take entrance money and many more roles.
If you can spare a little time and want to do something other than sitting in the gallery we would like to welcome you to our Event Support Team.
Everyone volunteering with Swim England Hertfordshire will get free entry into sessions as well as a good view of their swimmers racing. You have to be a member of an affiliated club to ensure you are covered by our insurance so will be required to provide your SE number. Some roles, particularly those that have close contact with young people, need to be filled by volunteers who have been DBS checked and completed safeguarding – your club can tell you more about this. Please check the role for more details as this will indicate what is required.
